Abudefduf hoefleri, commonly known as the African sergeant, is a species of damselfish in the family Pomacentridae. It is native to the eastern Atlantic Ocean where it ranges from Senegal to Benin, including Cape Verde, Ilhéu das Rolas, and São Tomé Island.
